Following a reinspection audit in summer 2011, Lucion are pleased to announce that our accreditations with UKAS have now been renewed for the next four years, at which point a further re-assessment will be required to continue our accreditation. Here at Lucion we pride ourselves on our accreditations as we know this is a reassuring sign to our clients that we uphold a high standard of quality.
UKAS Accreditation Specification
Lucion holds quality accreditation that conforms to two international standards, both of which are assessed by UKAS (The United Kingdom Accreditation Service).
Our testing accreditation is assessed to ISO/IEC 17025 and rigorous assessment and quality control procedures ensure that all in house testing methods conform to current international standards.
Our inspection accreditation is assessed to ISO/IEC 17020.
The benefits of dual accreditation
Dual accreditation allows Lucion to offer a service enveloped by quality control. Our holding both inspection and testing accreditation allows our quality control system to govern work carried out not just in the test laboratory environment, but also at the survey stage whilst on site. You can therefore be reassured by the fact that not just the testing element of your asbestos survey report is quality accredited, but rather the entire document and the site and laboratory works that go into producing it.
In most cases our clients are interested in the management, surveying and testing of their asbestos, not only because of the potential threat to human health, but also the potential liability they may incur should they not fulfil their legal obligations. That is why they choose to use a service that is UKAS accredited in its entirety. Risk is inherent – we act to minimise it.
Why UKAS?
UKAS is the only quality accreditation body in the UK that holds the expertise necessary to assess an organisations competence in asbestos testing and inspection. This expertise is acknowledged to the extent that UKAS is the nominated accreditation body in the Control of Asbestos Regulations Guidance notes.
