Demolition Asbestos Surveys, Management and Removal

Lucion asbestos surveys, management and removal prior to demolition.

Legislation now requires that all buildings that undergo demolition will require a pre-demolition asbestos survey and Billingham Houseremoval. Lucion is well experienced in undergoing such projects and our experience should provide you with an assurance that we will act professionally and efficiently to ensure you can progress with your project as quickly as possible.

Unlike other companies – which may carry out a 4-stage clearance or reassurance air test, where the enclosure may be failed and an analyst leave without training your team, and creating cases of two or more visits being required – Lucion pride ourselves on coaching your team to achieve a clearance first time and then issue the certificate by email from your site. No fuss, no time wasting, no problem.

Another time-saving measure is the introduction of our new e-clear service. You can book an asbestos analyst over the internet for a particular time of day on a specified date. Lucion environmental also make life easier for you by assisting your own staff in learning more about asbestos management. We can provide all the awareness training they need to understand the processes involved.

Asbestos in Soil

Following the demolition of a building, the land becomes known as a ‘brownfield’ site, meaning land that has been used previously. Before this can be re-built upon, there are some major considerations to be made. If the previous building had used asbestos within its building materials, the rubble left over after demolition could contain asbestos, and this can then very easily contaminate the soil. This can cause serious risks to health and safety. It is necessary to have a qualified asbestos surveyor take samples from the soil and have these tested for contamination prior to any access to site. Lucion Environmental provides both surveying and testing of soil contamination and asbestos in soil.

Demolition of ships

Ship owners are now more than ever concerned about the legislation surrounding the correct dismantling of ships. Laws will soon be in place that says vessels cannot be demolished without the correct records, in particular, an inventory of hazardous materials. Through our experience in the asbestos surveying industry, it was an obvious next step for our growing Lucion family to offer their assistance to the marine industry. Lucion Marine is capable of providing the soon to be required inventory, also known as a Green Passport, to any vessel, large or small, at most major international ports.
