Lucion holds quality accreditation that conforms to two international standards, both of which are assessed by UKAS (The United Kingdom Accreditation Service).
The ISO 9001:2008 standard provides a tried and tested framework for taking a systematic approach to managing the organization’s processes so that they consistently turn out product and services that satisfies customers’ expectations.
The ISO 9000 family of standards represents an international consensus on good quality management practices. It consists of standards and guidelines relating to quality management systems and related supporting standards.

ISO 14001:2004 is used by Lucion Environmental to meet the following external objectives:
- provide assurance on environmental issues to external stakeholders such as customers, the community and regulatory agencies
- comply with environmental regulations
- support the organization’s claims and communication about its own environmental policies, plans and actions
- provides a framework for demonstrating conformity via suppliers’ declarations of conformity, assessment of conformity by an external stakeholder – such as a business client – and for certification of conformity by an independent certification body
And is used to meet the following internal objectives:
- provide assurance to management that it is in control of their organizational processes and activities having an impact on the environment
- assure employees that they are working for an environmentally responsible organization.
OHSAS 18001 - OHS 577232
OHSAS 18001 is an internationally recognised standard for Health and Safety management. It is used by Lucion to highlight our capabilities as a trusted, safe contractor to our clients. The standard also ensures we identify, control and reduce the potential risks that could be encountered in the working environment, whether in our offices or on site.
Lucion are pleased to announce we are now officially members of the Asbestos Testing and Consultancy (ATaC) association. Being accepted as
members of ATaC is important to us as it’s stature within the asbestos industry will be of great use to Lucion as we continue to grow as a national company.
The association has been in operation for over 20 years, representing asbestos testing and consultancy specialists throughout the UK and overseas. ATAC’s members offer independent impartial advice on all aspects of asbestos management and remediation and also asbestos removal.

CHAS (Contractors Health & Safety Assessment Scheme)
There are many reasons why our clients make CHAS part of their process for choosing contractors. Moral reasons include a desire to set a good example by working safely. The fact that the scheme saves companies money means there are sound business reasons too. These include best value, meeting procurement regulations and a duty to provide value for money and efficiency savings.
Employers also have legal duties. Section 2(3) of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 says all companies that employ five or more people must have a written statement of their health and safety policy. Regulations make employers responsible for assessing the health and safety standards of any company they use to carry out work on their behalf. This is designed to protect the employer’s staff and everyone else who is affected by their work.
Employers also have a duty to monitor companies to make sure they are working safely. Of course, the level of assessment and any monitoring should match the level of risk.

British Occupational Hygiene Society
Lucion are proud to be certified by the British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS) to provide Proficiency Module courses and examinations. We have a dedicated and experienced course provider who works both from our dedicated training facilities across the country and can travel to you.
United Kingdom Asbestos Training Association
The United Kingdom Asbestos Training Association (UKATA) is a dedicated training authority that sets standards in asbestos training and ensures that its members meet those standards. Any organisation that allows builders or maintenance personnel onto their premises should ensure that they have evidence of asbestos awareness training. UKATA provides a quality standard for that training.
IOSH Managing Safely
Lucion are certified by IOSH to provide the IOSH Managing Safely course for Health and Safety. IOSH is the Chartered body for health and safety professionals that sets standards for its members as training providers.
